About the job

Recruitment Advisor

Birmingham / Leeds / Manchester

Full Time, Flexibility Required

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Recruitment Advisor to join our HR team in either our Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester office.

As a Recruitment Advisor you will work in a fast-paced environment, supporting our Recruitment Manager and working closely with the HR Business Managers with the recruitment process across our business. We need a confident and highly-organised individual who is a real team player. The role covers all aspects of recruitment from early career professionals to more senior roles.

Our Firm

Squire Patton Boggs is one of the world’s strongest integrated law firms, committed to providing insight at the point where law, business and government meet. We deliver commercially focused business solutions by combining our legal, lobbying and political capabilities and invaluable connections on the ground to a diverse mix of clients, from long-established leading corporations to emerging businesses, start-up visionaries and sovereign nations. More than 1,500 lawyers in 45 offices across 20 countries on five continents provide unrivalled access to expertise. In the UK, we have offices in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and London.

Our Team And What We Do

Our UK HR team consists of our core generalist HR team (responsible for our UK fee earners, support staff and secretarial staff populations), Learning & Development, Recruitment, Projects, Talent Acquisition, Payroll and Rewards & Benefits. The Recruitment Advisor will be aligned to the Recruitment Team but will work closely with the HR Business Managers.

Our Opportunity

You’ll be responsible for supporting all aspects of the full recruitment cycle, working closely with the HR team to understand the Firm’s resourcing needs, advising on the best methods to find suitable candidates and undertaking the candidate sourcing, using a mixture of direct and indirect sourcing methods. You’ll be finding candidates for business services roles (e.g. marketing, finance, secretarial) as well as qualified lawyers for fee-earning positions. You’ll be telephone interviewing, organising face-to-face interviews, taking feedback and managing the candidate cycle from start to finish.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of recruitment projects and initiatives across the Firm, including digital and social attraction methods, managing third party suppliers and assisting with graduate and emerging talent recruitment and the firm’s summer placement schemes.

This is a very varied and busy role in which no two days will be the same! If you’re looking for an opportunity that will stretch and challenge you, where your work is really crucial to the successful functioning of the Recruitment Team and the wider business, then this really could be the role for you.

This is a busy and fast-paced environment that requires someone who thrives under pressure and who is able to build relationships with people at all levels across the business and externally.

You’ll need to be meticulous about attention to detail, have excellent organisational skills and be able to juggle tasks when required. You’ll be happy to follow a process; but equally happy to suggest and implement improvements if needed. We’d like you to be very pro-active, and take real ownership and responsibility for what you do. As you’ll be dealing with individuals at all levels within the firm and externally, you must be confident in communicating warmly and professionally in writing, in person and on the telephone and have superb interpersonal skills.

We’d like you to have experience of using an Applicant Tracking System or candidate database, and some experience of working in-house. You’ll be happy sourcing candidates directly yourself, and will have demonstrable skills and confidence in this area.
