Your new role
As a housing support worker in this homeless hostel environment, you will be responsible for providing the support and guidance for your service users to make more informed life choices in things such as housing, education, training, employment and budgeting to ensure they have the necessary life skills to live life to the full broadening their opportunities and ensuring they have the knowledge and tools to live independently.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
You will need to be a confident and knowledgeable individual with a strong skill set in building rapport with high quality customer service, in order to build trusting relationships with your service users. You need to have strong communication skills with a good level of both written and spoken English to not only be able to converse but also record and monitor your service user progress through a support plan and implement both group and 1-1 support sessions where needed. You will have an understanding of issues relating to homelessness and a knowledge of the welfare benefits system including housing benefit regulations and above all be a team player with an enthusiastic and solution focused approach to what comes your way.
What You’ll Get In Return
You will be offered a full time 6 month fixed term contract of 39 hours per week with an annual salary of £20504, 28 days annual leave + bank holidays worked out for you on a pro rata basis. As well as a chance to work with a large and reputable organisation. A DBS will also be provided for you should you not have one already.
