About Us

The Office of the Vice-President (Advancement) has one overarching mission – to engage and grow all of UCL’s communities and communicate to them the brilliance of UCL The Advancement team manages UCL’s philanthropic relationships and the mobilisation of our alumni community for the benefit of the university and our students. In 2020 we closed UCL’s It’s All Academic Campaign, having raised more than £624m and inspired over 263,000 volunteering hours to help UCL, our students and our alumni community.

We are continuing to grow our income generation and alumni engagement as we head towards the launch of our next campaign. We are supported by UCL’s clear strategy for the future and sustained investment in the Advancement that has given us the resources and staff we need to achieve excellence.

About The Role

The People Team in Advancement attract, develop and retain outstanding talent to deliver UCL’s ambitious targets for fundraising and alumni engagement. Advancement’s greatest strength is its people and the People team focuses on enabling our colleagues to perform to their full potential, supporting an environment where people feel valued and inspired. About You

As Head of Talent & People you will attract, develop and retain outstanding talent in UCL Advancement, to deliver UCL’s ambitious targets for fundraising and alumni engagement. Advancement’s greatest strength is its people and a key area of focus for the role will be creating the conditions to enable our colleagues to perform to their full potential and supporting an environment where people feel valued and inspired.

Are you a HR professional with a passion for employee engagement, recruitment and talent development? As the successful candidate, you will be a strong relationship-builder who thrives when working on a variety of activities, from talent attraction to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion for all.

What We Offer

We are happy to consider applications from candidates seeking part-time opportunities (minimum 0.8 FTE – equivalent of 4 days per week, stated salary to be pro-rata).

Please note this position is a fixed-term contract for 12 months to cover maternity leave.
