Arcus, an ERM Group company, is seeking to appoint an Environmental Consultant to support and develop the environment services within the business and provide high quality environmental consultancy services to internal and external clients. To coordinate and manage environmental inputs for planning applications ranging from screening and scoping to environmental appraisals and large-scale EIA projects as well as post planning condition discharge.

What you will do:

  • Manage projects, teams and sub-consultants to ensure projects are delivered to schedule and budget
  • Manage, coordinate and liaise with in-house specialists as well as sub-consultants, developers and other relevant bodies
  • Provide specific and strategic advice to clients relating to projects across a wide range of sectors
  • Financial control and budgeting responsibility as project manager
  • Review the work of others to ensure high quality output
  • Manage and coordinate the preparation of complex technical documents as well as smaller reports and other deliverables
  • Understand and fulfil the requirements of Arcus’ Integrated Management System
  • Adhere to Arcus Health and Safety systems and procedures and take reasonable measures to ensure your own Health and Safety and that of co-workers
  • Represent the company at client meetings, conferences and other events
  • Prepare and/or assist with tender submissions for new projects
  • Provide advice and support to junior members of staff
  • Any other duties and responsibilities associated with the job role that the employee is reasonably required to have

The position requires travelling to site, other Arcus offices and to client meetings on a regular basis.
