Airbus Helicopters is the world’s largest helicopter manufacturer and the company’s site at Oxford Airport is Britain’s civil helicopter hub.

AHUK offers considerable experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance and spares support. Its in-house engineering capabilities include design, customisation, installation, flight-testing and certification, as well as technical support, maintenance, training and the supply of spares for civil and military applications.

AHUK is the MoD’s chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its Defence Helicopter Flying school (referred to as MFTS) located in RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey).

Description/Overall Purpose Of The Job

  • Manage IM Projects utilising the various IM functions and liaise with the relevant business PM / Stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of IM projects.
  • Work with the IT Ops teams and the Network & Security Manager to help define the architecture for Airbus Helicopters UK.
  • Support the IM Manager in the execution and delivery of IM Governance throughout the IM team and Airbus Helicopters UK.

Key Duties

  • Work with the IM Manager to scope, plan and implement IM and business projects
  • Act as PM while managing the execution of Internal IM projects and business projects
  • Support the various IM teams and functions in defining the architecture for Airbus Helicopters UK.
  • Ensure that all project requirements are in line with the company IM architecture
  • Provide technical guidance to the IM support teams in line with the IM architecture
  • Establish and maintain relationships with business stakeholders
  • Provide progress reports as required
  • Support the IM Manager in the establishing and managing the correct processes and procedures in line with Airbus corporate IM governance
  • Ensure all projects and deliverables are in line with IM governance rules and policy.

Education, Qualifications Or Special Training

  • While specific educational qualifications are not required, there must be evidence of the ability to learn new skills by illustration of a general academic background and achievement.
  • Broad technical qualifications or experience

Selection Criteria


  • Detailed knowledge / Qualification in a Project Management Methodology (or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of ITIL principles
  • Broad technical background
  • Detailed knowledge of IT/IM Architecture
  • Experience working in a secure environment


  • ITIL Qualification
  • Previous experience working in a similar role
  • Qualification in Project Management (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering IM projects
  • Experience working in an environment delivering IM or Corporate Governance

Knowledge of the following would be an added benefit:-

  • Excellent understanding of IT Networks and Infrastructure
  • Excellent understanding of Business Applications and infrastructure
  • Good communication Skills
  • Good All round technical knowledge in a business and engineering environment.

Additional Requirements

Due to the nature of this position you will require DBS Security Clearance and have or be eligible for SC clearance.
